Dark_AleX has just released a new homebrew application for the PSP, which allows you to create a backup/dump of a UMD inserted in your PSP to your memory stick, or directly to your PC via USB (using PSPLINK) in DAX, GZIP, or ISO format. Great if you want to get some extra speed in-game by running your legally bought UMD through memory stick, or just want to backup a copy for personal use, in case your UMD gets damaged. Features in UMD Dax Dumper Beta include:
- Dump to: selects the destination directory, which can be ms0:/ISO, ms0:/UMD, host0:/ISO, for PSPLINK usage.
- Format: DAX, ISO or GZIP (GZIP format is not supported by any loader, you'll have to decompress the GZIP and recompress later).
- Compression level: selects the compression level for DAX or GZIP format. 9 is better but slower, 1 is faster but worse, 6 is the compromise between speed and compression.
- Split size: select the size of each part, or 'no split' if you want to dump the full UMD to a single archived file.
